COURT BOOKING
We have an on-line court booking system and each court booking costs £1.
All members have a personal log-in and a password enabling them to access the system and make court bookings. Booking vouchers can be purchased at the club bar.
The system can be accessed at http://sltcc.mycourts.co.uk
It is advisable to book a court at peak times to ensure you can play when you want to.
Peak times are :
Mon-Fri 6.20pm,7pm ,7.40pm, 8.20pm.
Sat and Sun 10.20am, 11am ,11.40 am.
Some Tuesday evenings are reserved for Team Play from 7.40pm and the dates are advertised either on-line or on the notice boards at the Club.
SQUASH LEAGUES
Handicapped squash leagues are run on a monthly basis and players of all standards are encouraged to join. If you want to join put your name and telephone number on the league sheet in the squash gallery. If you are unsure where you may fit in speak to Harry Cole (07787570326) or Pete Edwards (020 8690 3014).
SQUASH TOURNAMENTS
There is a “level play” tournament and a handicap tournament held each year, usually with a main, plate and best-of-the-rest finals.
SQUASH LADDER
Anyone can join the squash ladder. You can challenge any player within four places above you. If you win you take their slot and they move down one slot and so on down to your original place. If you lose nothing changes. Put your name on the sheet in the gallery.
SQUASH TEAM
We have a team which competes in the Kent Priory League. If you are interested in playing contact Dan Crowley).
RACKETBALL LEAGUES
Racketball leagues are usually run over a six-weekly period on a handicap basis. There is a level play tournament and a handicap tournament held each year, again with a main, plate and best-of-the-rest finals.
RACKETBALL EQUIPMENT
Racketball rackets and balls are in the tea chest on the gallery. The code 4217 will open it. Please ensure you return any equipment and lock it again when finished.
SQUASH AND RACKETBALL COMMITTEE
Comprised of Pete Edwards (Chair), Harry Cole (Board Representative), Peter Lewis, Vic Marden & Simon Taylor. Ideas and suggestions to improve the running of the section are always welcome.
CLUB NIGHT
Thursday nights are designated CLUB NIGHT where everyone can play shortened matches with everyone else in a friendly environment. It is advisable to post a message on the web-group to indicate you intend to turn-up to encourage others.
SQUASH AND RACKETBALL COACHING
For those wishing to improve their game we have our SRA qualified coach Mike Harding. Fees are £15 per session plus lights. He can be contacted on 07956 406699. Mike can also restring your rackets.
E-GROUP
The section has a thriving e-group who exchange views and gossip, arrange games, receive league and tournament information and post their availability etc. To register send an email to Pete Edwards at sydenhamsquash@yahoogroups.co.uk
LIGHTS
The light meters outside the squash courts take £1coins and 20p pieces. Currently costs are £3.80 for a 40 minute session.
RACKETBALL MEMBERSHIP
All members who join to play squash are also included for racketball (and vice-versa). In order to promote racketball (and to provide for“wet-weather”play) the club also extends free racketball membership to tennis and croquet members aged 12 years and over.
PLAYING VISITORS
Members may bring an occasional guest on payment of the visitors fee of £3 for adults and £2 for juniors. Please refer to rules in clubhouse foyer which include restrictions on the number of times a person may play as a visitor without joining.
